In the BMJ editorial office, we often come across interesting articles, blogs, and web pages. We thought we would share these with you. Some are medical, some techie, and some just general.

“A Facebook friend recommended this Mobile Trends from the 2020 collaborative presentation. It gave me lots of ideas for last week’s BMJ strategy day as we predicted what the big stories would be in 2030 and how BMJ readers might access them. There’s lot of jargon in there, but some exciting predictions about 3D (very topical given Sky’s launch this week of a 3D channel in pubs), and the demise of laptops and the emergency of devices like Apple’s i-Pad, again launched this week). Will the BMJ have a print issue in 2030, I wonder?”

“I also read an article in Figaro Digital about predictions for 2010 and beyond. It talked about more and more companies embracing social media (as BMJ Group is doing with doc2doc). Mobile coming of age (at last) and the ability to browse any time, any place, anywhere (sounds a bit like the 1970s ad campaign for Martini).”
