The network is managed by Dr Havi Carel\r\n(UWE) and Dr Rachel Cooper (Lancaster).   \r\n\r\nFor more information on the network:\r\n<a class=\"moz-txt-link-freetext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/hlss\/courses\/philosophy\/ahrc_chid_network.shtml\">http:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/hlss\/courses\/philosophy\/ahrc_chid_network.shtml<\/a> \r\n\r\nWithin the broader framework of the project, which examines the concepts\r\nof health, illness and disease, this workshop will focus on mental\r\ndisorder. How is mental illness different from physical illness? What\r\nare its unique features? What challenges does mental illness pose to\r\ndifferent definitions of disease? \r\n\r\nConfirmed Speakers:\r\nProf Derek Bolton -tba\r\nDr Lisa Bortolotti - Epistemic definitions of mental disorders: benefits\r\nand pitfalls \r\n\r\nCall for papers:\r\nPapers which discuss the concept of mental disorder from any discipline\r\nare invited. Each paper will be given 30 minutes for presentation and\r\ndiscussion.
