{"id":49,"date":"2008-12-30T11:07:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-30T10:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/medical-ethics\/?p=49"},"modified":"2008-12-30T11:07:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-30T10:07:00","slug":"gordon-brown-opposes-something-that-noone-wants-anyway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/medical-ethics\/2008\/12\/30\/gordon-brown-opposes-something-that-noone-wants-anyway\/","title":{"rendered":"Gordon Brown opposes something that noone wants anyway&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gordon Brown was interviewed on the radio this morning by Cormack Murphy O&#8217;Connor, Cardinal Archbishop of <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: black;font-family: Verdana\">Westminster.\u00a0 A titanic clash of intellects it was not<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: black;font-family: Verdana\">.\u00a0 Apparently Super Gord is <a href=\"http:\/\/newsvote.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk_politics\/7804044.stm\">against reforming the laws on assisted suicide<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;text-align: left\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: black;font-family: Verdana\">In a interview with Cardinal Cormac Murphy O&#8217;Connor, a guest editor on Today, Mr Brown was asked about calls for euthanasia laws.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: black\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;text-align: left\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: black;font-family: Verdana\">He replied: &#8220;Well I&#8217;m totally against laws on that.
