{"id":3114,"date":"2017-01-05T11:31:46","date_gmt":"2017-01-05T10:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/medical-ethics\/?p=3114"},"modified":"2017-01-05T11:31:46","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T10:31:46","slug":"cfp-ime-summer-conference-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/medical-ethics\/2017\/01\/05\/cfp-ime-summer-conference-liverpool\/","title":{"rendered":"CfP: IME Summer Conference, Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Building on the success of three previous conferences held in Edinburgh, Newcastle and London, the 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Institute of Medical Ethics Summer Conference will take place on the 15<sup>th<\/sup> and 16<sup>th<\/sup> June 2017 in Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>Two changes have been made to the conference format for 2017.\u00a0 First, the Research Committee will accept proposals for <strong>individual papers as well as for panels<\/strong>.\u00a0 The latter will be allocated 75mins and the time can be used for traditional presentations of 15-20 mins or for more collaborative and discursive interactions.\u00a0 Second, there is <strong>a specific call for contributions from the medical humanities<\/strong>.\u00a0 The IME\u2019s Research Committee hopes to include a stream of medical humanities papers across both days of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Confirmed Keynote Speakers are <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/law\/people\/academic\/rscott.aspx\">Prof Rosamund Scott<\/a><\/span> (KCL) and <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/ppr\/about-us\/people\/stephen-wilkinson\">Prof. Stephen Wilkinson<\/a><\/span> (Lancaster).<\/p>\n<p>Further information can be found <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/ime.datawareonline.co.uk\/Event-Booking\/EventId\/1023\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/span>, and the IME\u00a0 can be found on Twitta via <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IMEweb\" target=\"_blank\">@IMEweb<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The location and date of this year\u2019s conference have been coordinated with the annual conference of the UK Clinical Ethics Network.\u00a0 Themed &#8220;Family Matters&#8221;, this will be their 17th Annual Conference.\u00a0 It takes place on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> June, and there will be a short IME\/ UKCEN crossover session on the morning of the 15<sup>th<\/sup>.
