I wonder what readers’ experiences were of the IAB conference in Croatia at the start of the month.\u00a0 I know that some delegates had a terrible time with the organisation – what were your impressions?\u00a0 Additionally, what was your impression of the standard of papers?<\/p>\n
For myself, I was happy to see that those whom I thought would be worth hearing were worth hearing; and there was a good number of papers that were a\u00a0genuine\u00a0pleasure to attend.\u00a0 On the other hand, there was also a number of papers that I thought were (ahem) somewhat less than inspiring.\u00a0 One or two made me wish that I’d stayed in bed<\/span> spent a bit more time in the sea<\/span> gone to other sessions.\u00a0 And a couple was just hilariously bad.\u00a0 Here’s a clue: any paper that starts with the phrase “I would like to invite you to come on a journey with me…” should have alarm bells ringing.\u00a0 And when people are wearing costumes…\u00a0 Just: no.<\/p>\n Other thoughts?\u00a0 Who impressed you?\u00a0 What impressed you?\u00a0 And what made you want to run away and hide?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I wonder what readers’ experiences were of the IAB conference in Croatia at the start of the month.\u00a0 I know that some delegates had a terrible time with the organisation – what were your impressions?\u00a0 Additionally, what was your impression of the standard of papers?
