The chat will be held on <strong>Wednesday 5<sup>th<\/sup> July 2017 from 6-7pm UK time. <\/strong>Join in the conversation by using <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/RCNchat?src=hash\">#RCNchat<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Participating in the Twitter Chat requires a Twitter account; if you do not already have one you can create an account at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/\">www.twitter.com<\/a>. Once you have an account contributing is straightforward; follow the discussion by searching for #RCNchat. Once linked to the discussion, click &#8220;all tweets&#8221; to keep up-to-date with recent tweets. To join in, add the #RCNchat hash tag your\u00a0tweets, this allows everyone taking part to view your contribution.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the <em>Shape of Caring: Raising the Bar<\/em> review published in March 2015 was to review models of education &amp; training for nurse registrants &amp; healthcare assistants in England with 34 recommendations made that would shape the future of nurse education:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hee.nhs.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/2348-Shape-of-caring-review-FINAL.pdf\">https:\/\/www.hee.nhs.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/2348-Shape-of-caring-review-FINAL.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Nursing &amp; Midwifery Council is responsible\u00a0for the regulation of\u00a0nurses &amp; midwives in England, Wales, Scotland &amp; Northern Ireland, with the purpose of protecting the public (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.org.uk\/about-us\/our-role\/\">https:\/\/www.nmc.org.uk\/about-us\/our-role\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1201\" src=\"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/ebn\/files\/2017\/07\/NMC-screenshot-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The council set standards of education, training, conduct &amp; performance so that nurses &amp; midwives can deliver high quality healthcare.
