The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abpi.org.uk\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry<\/a> plans <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/351\/bmj.h4197\">to bring in a system where healthcare professionals voluntarily<\/a> declare payments and hospitality received from drug companies.<\/p>\n<p>The issue is the subject of our latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmj.com\/theBMJ#poll-widget\" target=\"_blank\">online poll<\/a>, which, at the time of writing, has almost 85% of readers agreeing. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/351\/bmj.h4197\/rr\">One reader thinks that\u00a0<em>The BMJ<\/em> could be more open<\/a> about its own acceptance of pharma cash.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It does seem rather ironic that whilst viewing this article online, the text is surrounded by adverts promoting medical products!
