The results of the Great Application Race are starting to
\nfilter through, slowly. Sadly I am still waiting to hear
\nany positive responses. Well done to everyone who secured
\nan interview. I guess that I should be thankful that I
\ndon’t have to worry about that with the clinical exams
\ncoming up in a couple of weeks – one of my colleagues with
\nwhom I am revising secured an interview in Manchester and
\nwill spend most of this week preparing his portfolio
\nwhilst trying to both work and revise. I, too, am back to
\nthe revision table, depserately clutching my copy of
\nCatherine Parchment Smith’s epic book (I worry that when I
\ngo to the exam I may introduce myself as Dr Parchment
\nSmith) everywhere I go, inducing sympathetic looks from
\nsenior colleagues who instantly recognise the cover.<\/p>\n

\nNintendo Wii to one side for another few weeks, despite
\nrecent reports in the press<\/a> that it is effective at
\nimproving strength, endurance and co-ordination! I’m not
\nas convinced about the benefits having suffered a recent
\nsevere case of Wii-itis from being a little too
\ncompetitive at the boxing event!<\/p>\n
\njunior doctors around the country, with many people in
\nrun-through posts having their RITA (or equivalent) coming
\nup, GP exam results, postgraduate clinical exams and job
\ninterviews. This of course means that’s it an even more
\nimportant week for surgical personnel managers and study
