However, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/350\/bmj.h1301\">researchers from the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group at the University of Sheffield have analysed that report and believe that it is so flawed it should be withdrawn<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/files\/2015\/03\/blairmagic-bullet-BMJ.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-33776\" src=\"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/files\/2015\/03\/blairmagic-bullet-BMJ-300x141.jpg\" alt=\"blairmagic bullet BMJ\" width=\"266\" height=\"125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/files\/2015\/03\/blairmagic-bullet-BMJ-300x141.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stg-blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/files\/2015\/03\/blairmagic-bullet-BMJ-1024x481.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><\/a>\u2022 Another government incentive plan, but this time from across the Atlantic, is to increase research and development into antibiotics.<\/p>\n<p>The Food and Drug Administration will now grant a \u201cqualified infectious disease product\u201d (QIDP) status to novel antibiotics, which promises to increase the speed of review and simultaneously lower the bar for approval. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/350\/bmj.h1453\">When looking into the drugs that have come through that route, Peter Doshi wonders if this is a fake fix<\/a>?
